SPRINGFIELD, MO. — Ozarks Technical Community College will hold a press conference to announce the largest gift in the history of the institution on Thursday, February 4, at 9 a.m. The event will be held in the Information Commons Atrium at the College’s Springfield campus, 1001 E. Chestnut Expressway.
The multimillion-dollar gift has been presented to the OTC Foundation, the fundraising arm of the College, and will benefit Ozarks Technical Community College’s workforce development and credit programs. Dr. Hal Higdon, president of the College, as well as other officials involved in the planning and use of the gift will be present and available for interviews at the event.
Currently serving nearly 13,000 students, Ozarks Technical Community College offers Associates degrees and certificates in a variety of technical, allied health, and two-year transfer degree programs, as well as workforce development opportunities and non-credit courses. Classes are available at five locations throughout southwest Missouri: the main campus in Springfield, the Richwood Valley campus in Christian County, and Education Centers in Lebanon, Branson and Waynesville. Students can also earn a complete Associates degree through the College’s online classes. A degree can be completed in two years or less, at a fraction of the cost of many area colleges.
