The Missouri Community College Association has a vacant position. The job description, desired qualifications, and salary are provided below. Job Description
This position shall report to the Executive Director/CEO. The duties of this position shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Preparation of print publications and online media. Working with the Executive Director/CEO to develop publications and website content that build support for community colleges’ statewide mission. Duties associated with this function will include collecting information from colleges, developing copy, designing publications, and identifying the best methods for disseminating different kinds of information.
- Grant research and writing. Working with the Executive Director/CEO to identify grant opportunities for which the Association may apply. The person who holds this position shall be the Association’s primary grant-writer and shall work with MCCA’s institutional members to collect information and to develop coordinated, statewide grant applications. The person who holds this position may be responsible for administering grants received, provided it is appropriate for Association staff to perform that function.
- Membership development. Working with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to develop an annual strategy to increase individual membership in the Association. The person who holds this position will also be responsible for implementing that strategy.
- Brand establishment and management. Working with the Executive Director/CEO to establish and maintain a brand for the Association that is used consistently in publications, at events, and in other Association endeavors.
- Event planning and execution. Working with MCCA’s Board of Directors to plan and execute events including the Association’s annual convention, retreats, conferences, and workshops. Duties associated with this function will include making recommendations regarding event location, speakers, and entertainment; making arrangements with venue operators, vendors, and service providers; managing event budgets; hiring, if needed and approved by the Executive Director/CEO, temporary staff to assist with event preparation and execution; promoting event attendance; ensuring that events operate smoothly; and conducting evaluations of each event.
- Office support. Providing clerical and administrative support for the Executive Director/CEO and the Association on an as-needed basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high degree of proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
- Experience designing and writing content for publications.
- Website development skills.
- Grant-writing experience.
- Event management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
Job title and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Range: $35,000-$45,000.
